In 2005, the monument 'Tragédia do Mar' was inaugurated on the beach of Matosinhos, a sculpture tribute to the shipwreck of 1947 with about three meters of height, composed of five figures of orphans and widows whose faces show the tragedy occurred in 1947. It was sculpted by José João Brito, which was based on the screen of the same name created by Mestre Augusto Gomes

In 2007, 60 years after the tragedy, the Municipality of Matosinhos decided to recall the fateful history by publishing the book 'Shipwreck of 1947 - Toda a Saudade is a Stone Wharf' which presents a detailed account of the events and includes photographs of all fishermen who died that day. In order to recall the tragedy, a chest was buried on the beach of Matosinhos with one of the books inside, to which was attached a black ribbon two kilometers long.
