    The monument dedicated to Alberto Churriguera and José del Castillo, as the architects of the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, is located in the Plaza del Poeta,

    Alberto Churriguera Ocaña (1676 - 1750) was a Spanish architect of the Baroque, member of the Churriguera family. He was Master of the New Catedral of Salamanca and also of the Plaza Mayor 1728. He made two canvases of the Plaza, as well as other important works in Madrid and Valladolid.

    José del Castillo was also an architect of the cathedral.

    The plaque reads: Salamanca to Alberto de Churriguera and José del Castillo, Count Frankos, architects of the Plaza Mayor on the 250th anniversary of his Termination May 10, 2005
