    We’re now aboard our Boeing A320-200…

    After the most incredible experience at check-in, apparently we require a Certificate of Travel for each flight, which I dispute, primarily because LATAM didn’t raise this when we commenced our journey even though they were aware of our ongoing flight to Buenos Aires! Consequently we spent nearly an hour while the ‘clerk’ perused the medical records (!) and then decided to call the company doctor

    Then, after being guided to Gate C06 on arrival there we discover it had changed to Gate D08, and, for some reason Gates C & D are not next to each other! Still we made it…just!    もっと詳しく

    Buenos Aires

    We’ve now arrived at the Holiday Inn Ezeiza Airport, which is really rather nice…it has a Spa, a swimming pool and the El Mangrullo, an Argentinian Grill, which we will be checking out later!

    The disembark was fabulous, Lainey requested assistance and boy did we get it…whisked through Passport and even our luggage was waiting for us when we got to the conveyor belt, think I’ll be taking some crutches to Turkey!もっと詳しく

    Ezeiza International Airport

    Ministro Pistarini International Airport is also known as Ezeiza International Airport owing to its location in Ezeiza in Greater Buenos Aires

    We’re relaxing in the Lufthansa Lounge with a drink and nibbles it’s a rather nice selection plus Chivas Regal 12 year old and coke, I should be ashamed of myself!

    Anyway sitting here relaxing so I thought I’d share this picture which is here in the Lounge with you all. Lainey thought it was a seed head, like a thistle, but then maybe a rabbits nose…answers on a postcard please! Please do not respond in FindPenguins!

    We wizzed through security and passports again thanks to Lainey being in a wheelchair, this is so good I’m wondering what I can do to her before we travel again!?

    Our flight leaves Buenos Aires 16:45hrs and arrives in Frankfurt at 11:00hrs + 1, it’s a 13h 15m flight time and everything seems to be running on time    もっと詳しく

    Return to Frankfurt…

    Over the Atlantic Ocean to Frankfurt.

    We’re travelling in a Boeing B747-8 at 583 mph (509 knots), at an altitude of 32,998 feet with a further 3,819 miles to our destination having travelled some 3,600 miles to get here! It’s -34C and 07:05hrs of travel remaining

    Its 03:48hrs in Frankfurt and we arrive there at 10:52hrs

    Lovely meal of sliced Smoked Loin Slices with Burrata and Parmesan Cheese followed by Marinated grilled Prawn and braised Sea Bass enhanced by Curry Sauce with Calis Lemon and Coconut Basmati Rice and sautéed Bok Choy and dessert was Chocolate Brownie garnished with Paris Brest Cream and lets not forget the 2016 Chateau La Chandelliere, Cru Bourgeois Medoc from Bordeaux, France…x 2. Lainey had the Salmon!

    We arrived Frankfurt at 10:55hrs and are now in the Lounge waiting for our 13:00hrs boarding call, apparently early because of increased security checks going to UK, our flight leaves at 14:00hrs and arrives London Heathrow at 14:40hrs. Our journey should end at about 08:00ish!

    PLEASE NOTE: I have just realised the time stamps cannot be relied on because that puts the journey out of sync so some have been entered manually to allow time zone differences    もっと詳しく

    Heathrow

    Ooh, not sure where the text disappeared to but…

    We arrived into Heathrow with huge relief after our loooong journey. We had thought about an overnight before driving home but then decided just to get home which we commenced after some difficulty with the car parking as we’d lost our parking ticket complicated by returning early!

    Almost immediately we realised there was a rattling knock which I, sadly and correctly, realised was the front passenger suspension coil…gone! So, we crossed our fingers and rattled our way West    もっと詳しく

    The knocking continued all the way home, though easier on the motorways, but it got us home ok!

    Traffic was quite light considering time of day and going via Birmingham. Then after a 3.5 hour journey and only another 20 minutes from home the road was blocked, undergoing line marking after road repairs, which meant a 35 mile detour…consequently we arrived home to an ecstatic welcome from Cere, our Springer, following by a, very, large Scotch & Coke and a plate of Chips, with our grateful thanks to Pete & Dot who looked after Cere and Canadel in our absence and also supplied the Chips!もっと詳しく
