4 hour drive up from Esperance today. Chops and salad on the fire for tea tonight.
Day two had a bit of a look around at the beaches and decided that short beach was gonna be the one that we would fish off in the afternoon. We called into the boat shop where they actually fish for Western Australian Pilchard package them up on the send them off we got some fresh ones from them 10 bucks for about a kilo and a bucket of ice. Great value . Didn’t help us catch any fish though I hooked up on what I thought was a skip Jack a couple of times but couldn’t land. It started to rain and the wind got cold so we went back got the fire going and had some tea. Also found the Bremer Bay brewery had a couple of schooners. Well they weren’t really schooners though 370 mL so they’re a bit less than a schooner and the beer wasn’t as good as the beer that we make.Weiterlesen

  • Denham

    27.–31. Mai 2025 in Australien ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Four hour drive up from Kalbarri today pretty easy drive had a bit of wind for the first hundred K which mucks up the fuel economy but other than that good trip arrived here at Denham and here for four nights. Best thing so far is 28° today absolutely beautifully sunny and not a cloud in the sky loving it.
Went down to the sunset deck at the caravan park and watched a beautiful sunset in a cloudless sky
Day 2 at Denham we went round to Eagle Bluff had a look at the view there lovely didn’t see any sea life then we went to Skip Jack point out in the François Peron National Park. Long drive up a very soft Sandy track Michael forgot to get the tyres down to 16. We originally only went down to 25psi but that wasn’t enough. We got bogged so we went all the way down to 16 psi pressure and no problems for the rest of the day.
Day 3 went to the aquarium and had lunch there reasonably good show there although the sharks were not keen on being fed at all and stayed hidden. Drove over to monkey Mia in the afternoon just to check it out in preparation for the next day.
Day four went over to monkey Mia and did the 2 1/2 hour wildlife cruise where we saw dolphins birds dugong turtles

  • Quobba Station

    2.–4. Juni 2025 in Australien ⋅ ☁️ 24 °C

Short 2 1/2 hour drive up from Gladstone Bay with a stop at Canarvan for a bit of shopping at woollies and some deflators for me from Repco very muddy drive the last 8 km into Quobba station. Rained all away all the equipment very muddy now so hopefully we get a bit of rain when we’re next driving to help wash it off.
Day 2 still raining this morning but fines up in the afternoon. Last night the wind was huge the van was rocking and thought the awning was gonna get blown off……but no damage to the awning. Just didn’t get much sleep. We went down to the Quobba blow holes that were going okay but weren’t that spectacular and then had a look at point Quobba campground and then went for a walk along the beach and found a better blow hole at the Quobba station beach.
The road In was very corrugated and rough so we’ve aired down both the car and the caravan tyres to 30 psi. For the drive out.

  • Coral Bay

    4.–7. Juni 2025 in Australien ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Trip out from Quobba Station was not as wet as going in but still quite rough but we aired down all of our tyres on the van and the car so when we got out we aired them up again and had to use michael’s compressor because mine failed. This did make the ride on the Van a little smoother ….had a lovely coffee at the Quobba blowholes coffee Van and headed off to Coral Bay.
Day two coral Bay went for a walk this morning and saw a stingray. The one with the blue dots on its head.
Went round five fingers reef are very rough and corrugated dry sand track in most spectacular snorkelling I’ve seen. A myriad of colourful fish species, turtles, rays and only about 3 to 5 m off the beach. ….will be back there tomorrow
Day 3 Julie‘s birthday today more snorkelling round at the five fingers reef so dozens and dozens of more fish varieties plenty of loggerhead turtles and swim with the black tipped reef shark we’re having a birthday dinner at Bill‘s bar with pre-dinner drinks at the Van

  • Exmouth

    7.–10. Juni 2025 in Australien ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Arrived this afternoon after a drive up from Coral Bay only an hour and a half but we stopped because there’s a car wash here and we clean the vans after our episode at Quinn’s Station. We had a bit of a drive around and look at the town and then found the whalebone brewery where we had a couple of beers when our back at the caravan park and gonna have some hamburgers for tea at Michael’s Van.
Day two was snorkelling over at turquoise Bay in the Cape range National Park snorkelling was okay not as good as coral Bay. Had to call into the whale bone and have a couple of bruise before tea.
Day three snorkelling at Lakeside this was much better snorkelling than turquoise Bay, however still not as good as Coral Bay.
Michael may have a different opinion
