Day 6 South shore and tubing

-Mountain tubing through the plantation water irrigation canal
-Poipu beach park
-Keoki's palace (dinner)

Mountain tubing was fun but absolutely freezing! The tour guides were hilarious and made up for the cold, but I probably wouldn't try this again :p

Apparently South African trees were brought to Kauai meant to serve as wind breakers, but a desert tree in a tropical area became twice as tall (140 ft vs. 60 ft!) And don't work well because the branches are brittle. They are quite majestic though.

Poipu beach park was awesome. We saw a turtle waddling onto the beach, lots of chickens, and encountered a group of ratchet middle aged doctors out partying.

For dinner, got to keoki 's early enough the get their $26 chef special (3 course meal). I tried their local catch and it was delicious.Read more
