    Cyprus, Aphrodite’s Rock

    We’ve arrived in Cyprus, picked up our Motorhome from our new mate Nikos and have started our road trip around this island. It’s crazy that island in the Mediterranean is closer to Turkey, Syria and Egypt than Wollongong is from Sydney.

    We stayed a couple of nights at Rikko’s beach car park in Paphos to get sorted with some life admin- laundry, groceries school work, road trip itinerary etc.

    While in Paphos we visited the birthplace of Kylie’s favourite goddess Aphrodite. Legend has it that the Greek God Kronos cut off the nuts of his nasty Dad Ouranous and threw them into the Mediterranean Sea just off the coast of Cyprus and soon after Aphrodite emerged from the sea foam where Ouranous’ balls landed.

    Anyway the goddess of love is Kylie’s favourite after seeing the mesmerising Botticelli painting in the Uffici gallery in Florence last year and the perfectly imperfect Venus de Milo sculpture in the louvre.
