Italy

In an attempt to get a return on our school fee investment of 6 years of Italian we’re taking Keyala to Italy so she can bargain with gondola drivers for a buona price.
Our bags are full of 50 FFP2 masks, 20 RAT tests, 5 shields and litres of sanny.

  • The canals of Venezia

    21 April 2022, Italia ⋅ 🌧 11 °C

A peaceful gondola ride through the beautiful Venetian canals. Maurizio serenaded us with Italian songs which mesmerised us all. It was peaceful and just what we needed after a big travelling day. Maurizio told us stories of dodgy families and palaces along the canals. Which we later realised were Doge family palaces - a very famous Venetian family.Baca selengkapnya

  • Biennale di Venezia

    23 April 2022, Italia ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

We celebrated the opening day of the Biennale Di Venezia (after two years of cancellation due to covid) in the Giardini di biennale. The Australian pavilion of sound art was cool but there was lots of other contemporary art so different from Leonardo and Botticelli that lead to some interesting questions from Ariah (especially in awkward orchid room … thanks Belgium)

We decided to eat our final Italian dinner in the family restaurant in our alleyway next to our accommodation, Trattoria Alle Lance, which was more like dinner and a show with the Italian version of Fawlty towers eventually serving our food. It was all delicious but very funny and we were lucky to get what we ordered even after the 4th time the waiter checked what we ordered, an hour into our visit.

A quick stop for a walk along the Venetian walls and up to the citadel for (boob) cake and coffee.
We had our personal tour guide (dad) tell us about the walls.

    di doman non c’è certezza.

  • The Amazing Italy trip by Ariah

    28 April 2022, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

    Italy
Swoosh went the plane as it landed in Milan (Italy). We stayed in Italy for two weeks, it was so fun. The first five days we stayed in Milan. We stayed in a fancy hotel room and it had a little balcony.

Then for five days we stayed in Florence. In Florence we went to the leaning tower of Pisa. Then it was EASTER and I got a giant Easter egg with a kinder surprise toy in it.

Next we stayed in Venice for four days. In Venice we stayed in a very nice apartment with a big kitchen.

    Italy was really fun.

Then we drove all the way to Milan again to get on the plane. On the plane I watched a lot of movies, because we went on two planes. One of the planes was six hours and the other one was fourteen hours. Italy was amazing
