  • Sandy Beach!

    August 9, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

This morning we left the bustle of Waikiki Beach to head to Sandy Beach, a quiet, sandy beach on the East Coast.
I think we might have found a little piece of paradise!
The golden sand, turquoise waters, amazing lunch at a food truck (we had an açai bowl in a pineapple!!!)! We were conquered!
The waves were really big though… or so we thought! We were told when we left that today was a pretty quiet day!!!

How can you not be inspired to run when the surroundings are so beautiful!
You can even sneak a peek of Diamond Head, a dormant volcano East of Waikiki, on one of the pictures.
I enjoyed a great run with both of my beauties this morning!
Great way to start the day!

Today we had our traditional mother-daughters photoshoot!
After our usual Hawaiian lattes (for the girls) and açai smoothie (for me), we went to Lanakai Beach, a very famous beach, voted as Hawaii most beautiful beach.
The pictures will be available in a few days so hang on tight!
After a nice lunch for sushi we spent some time on the beach before the girls went surfing for two hours!
Needless to say that everyone is exhausted tonight!

  • Perfect day in Waikiki!

    August 12, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

This morning Juju and I did our longest run of the vacation so far thank to the rain and clouds!
It cleared up in no time and we lounged by the pool for a few hours.
After a lunch of avocado toasts and açai bowls we went to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and spent some time by the lagoon!
Did I mention that the Rodeo Drive of Waikiki, Kalakaua Avenue, is a mere few steps from our hotel? Dior, Gucci, Vuiton, Chanel… The temptation is real!!! I haven’t succumbed so far but there is still time!!!
We improvised a little 5 à 7 on our balcony before heading out for dinner!

Got the girls up and we walked an hour to make it to Diamond Head! We came across a Laundromat along the way so of course we had to take our traditional pic!!!
The guides say it’s a 40 minute hike and dit people do it in 30. So what do you think we did! Less than 25 minutes!
The view was amazing and definitely rewarding but we look forward to hiking in nature on Maui!

    August 13, 2024 in the United States ⋅ 🌬 28 °C

After our hike we took it really easy for the rest of the day.
We treated ourselves to some amazing sushis for lunch!
After spending a few hours on the beach in Waikiki we tried the famous Banan « ice cream », an absolutely delicious frozen treat made from bananas!
We walked an hour, there and back, to sample Leonard’s famous malasadas! Those sweet treats should not be compared to donuts as they are sooooo much nicer! Yummy!
Today was our last day on Oahu. Tomorrow we fly to beautiful Maui!

Fun fact: we didn’t see a single pineapple!!!
That’s what happens when you do not want to take the guided tour because there is only so much you want to know about pineapples!!!!

    August 15, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

    New day, new beach!
We went to Ho’okipa Beach which is the first stop of the Road to Hana.
This beach is popular for all the « honus », green turtles in Hawaiian, you can spot there.
They are huge! We found them lounging on the beach and swimming in the ocean!
How many can you spot on the first picture?

Ho’okipa Beach is located on the North Shore of Maui therefore the waves are very strong.
It’s a well known spot for experienced surfers!
