• Murano and Burano

    June 21, 2024 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Today we went to Murano by boat and went to the same restaurant as yesterday. We went back because it had very nice food and staff.

We looked in more shops and bought presents. We were especially looking for something for Oma as today is her 75th birthday.

We then went to Burano by another boat. Like Murano, Burano is an island. While Murano is famous for its glass, Burano is famous for its colourful houses and lace. Something the two islands have in common is that they were both quieter than Venice.

The houses were every possible colour! There were blue ones, purple ones, and green ones! Some were vibrant, but some were faded and peeling.

At every shop we went to there was lace, lace, lace everywhere! Lace is a kind of fabric.

We looked at some more colourful houses and in some more shops. We bought some more presents and had a gelato.

We then went back to Venice by boat and went to find the narrowest ally way in Venice. I could only just fit in, but could not turn around.

It was a great way to spend our last day in Venice. Tomorrow we go to LUCCA!!!!!!!
