• Thames Head Inn

    So we arrived in Kemble, got our bearings and then walked to our first stop of the day – the Thames Head Inn pub. This was clearly a focal point for the area, a status befitting its position as the only building for probably a mile in any direction. We walked inside, past a map on the wall showing the path to the source of the Thames which we’d missed up until it was pointed out to us when asking at the bar which was the right way to go to get to the source of the Thames. Poor map reading wasn’t a good sign for our trip.

    The Thames Head Inn was a lovely-looking place and it would have been lovely to have a look around had it been a bit quieter, but it was Sunday lunch and absolutely heaving. What little of the menu we saw sounded great and smelt terrific. Just before we got our 2 large glasses of wine the person before us had come in to attend their booking for 4 and a dog. That seemed fitting.
