This would have been the main part of Rome. It was fun to look at all the sites, some almost 3000 years old. It is hard to fathom how a society so advanced could fall apart.

The outside of this church is part of a roman bath. Michelangelo designed the inside. It has a hole for the sun to shine on a line that traces the year. The symbols of the zodiac are along that line.

For 10, you can climb 551 stairs to the dome. So worth the money and the stairs.
