    Start of the two penguins in Bukovce

    First steps of the two penguins on their trip to Asia. We start our tour in my village Bukovce, where I (3latimirs) grew up after moving there from Vienna as a one year old baby. Bukovce is located on the triple border between Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria, in the very east of the country, near Negotin, a small town of great beauty and enormous historical importance. The region is known for its more than seven hundred years old wine-growing tradition, which is still carefully cultivated both in the town and in the surrounding villages. The diverse cultural heritage of this region reaches far back into the past, even to the Neolithic Age, and is complemented by medieval monasteries and monuments of more recent history. In addition to the exceptional natural beauty, the proximity of the rivers Danube and Timok, and the mountains Deli Jovan and Miroc, Negotin is characterized by an unusual climate with extremely hot summers and cold winters - pleasant for people and suitable for growing fruits, vegetables and, of course, grapes.Read more
