• PC Trail - Finger 5

    August 15 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Finger 5 was a lot wider than number 2 but had beautiful high gorges with palm trees and other plants. We climbed over rocks and walked into a little cave before ending at a rock wall and couldn’t go any further. Scott and I walked up a different track and sat down and admired the view of the gorge. We then headed back down towards our campsite and found a big pool where we swam in. The water wasn’t too cold but it was very refreshing and exactly what we needed.

We continued on to our campsite and I tried to filter about 2 litres of water. The filter was becoming clogged and it was getting harder and harder. Scott made us a cup and teas and at 5:30pm we started organising dinner. We had freeze dried beef curry. It definitely didn’t taste like a traditional curry but still quite tasty.

We watched the sunset behind the gorges and then the mosquitos came out so we headed into our tent and I fell asleep at 7:30pm. Scott went and looked at the stars and saw a massive shooting star that took up a large part of the sky and then fizzled out.
