Day 1 Florence

Today, we went to the Academia Gallery, site of learning for various Renaisance and Baroque artists. This included Michaelangelo, who carved his masterpieces directly from marble without the use of sketches or models.

We then toured the Duomo, of Santa Maria del Fiore, a massive structure built of marble. The construction took over six hundred years and was funded mainly by the Medici"s.Read more
