When we drive to NYC, we stop for the night about an hour outside of the city. It makes the trip myto New York easier and better after a good night's sleep.

Many times we've stopped in Denville, NJ. Each time we've eaten at the Hibernia Diner. Good food, good desserts and it's close to the hotel!Read more

Brooklyn

We checked into our Hampton in Brooklyn. We've been here enough that the front desk staff recognizes us!
Had lunch with Konstantin at the Montague Diner. Pancakes, fries and a really delicious egg salad sandwich.
Walked by St. Ann & The Holy Trinity Church. It was impressive. Built in 1847, it's now undergoing restoration of the tower and organ.
We shared a great Chinese meal at King Co Imperial. The soup dumplings were the best I've had. Dessert at Jess Puddin'. It's a little shop that specializes in pudding. It was really creamy and tasty.Read more

Apartment Work

Today was spent helping Emma and Konstantin settle into their new place. Everyone chipped in, and we made good progress.
We rewarded ourselves with a nice Italian dinner at Saraghina. Very rustic and charming place with good food and drinks. Sean and Konstantin had an interesting Mortadella pizza. They really enjoyed it.Read more

Busy Sunday

We started the day with a hearty breakfast at Ultra Fine Diner, just a block from the apartment. They had some interesting offerings like fried bologna, homemade sausage and cheese grits. The table favorite was the Masa Pancakes. The scoop of spicy honey butter and the texture of the cornmeal pancakes made for a delicious plate.
The Von Schroders headed to Ikea for some necessities, while we drove to Emma's old place to pick up a few boxes.
Back at the apartment, we did some more unpacking then said good bye to the Von Schroders. The three of us had a really nice family meal at Olea Mediterranean, followed up by Junior's cheesecake.Read more
