Brooklyn Botanical Garden

Navigated to the botanical garden by bus. Saw creative NYC parking, great architecture, and grass on top of the Barclay Center.
The gardens were beautiful. They had a huge field of Bluebells. The photos don't do the scene justice.
Had a delicious lunch at Winner, a customer of Emma's. Of course, the cheese on our sandwiches was great.Read more

Manhattan Bridge

Emma is at her first graduation ceremony this morning at Yankee Stadium. We have tickets for her department graduation tomorrow.
So we explored the Manhattan Bridge and the Dumbo neighborhood. We walked much of the way across the bridge, but I didn't want to go all of the way with the shaking each time a train went across. It accommodates 7 vehicle lanes, 4 train routes, pedestrians and a bike path!
Dumbo is a nice neighborhood with shops, food, and a collection of bright murals.Read more

Dinner at Agi's Counter

We had the most wonderful dinner. The James Beard nominated chef is Hungarian, so we had delicious food with plenty of traditional Hungarian ingredients. Dumplings, salads, fish, and potatoes will dill, caraway and much more!Read more

Leaving the City behind... We had a great time. The more we visit, the more we learn about getting around and the more we appreciate the people and experiences that make NYC unique. I'm not sure where the idea of cold, unfriendly New Yorkers originated. Our experience has been the opposite. Emma and her friends had two graduation ceremonies, one requiring more than an hour of subway commuting to Yankee Stadium. On the trains, sidewalks and in stations, they were continually congratulated by those around them. New Yorkers are proud of their graduates. The Empire State Building glowed in shades of purple the night of graduation.Read more
