Day 1 : Home for 3 months

Arrived in Malta to be warmly welcomed by our AirBnB host James who kindly carried the cases to the car and up the stairs to our second floor apartment. First impressions; Beautiful yellow sandstone,Baca lagi
Day 2: Wied il-Għajn

Doesn't take long to walk round the area and it will be great for early morning runs! Huge selection of different cafes and restaurants to chose from. Headed off round the seafront and within half anBaca lagi
Day 3: Lets try out the Buses

Reminded today it is still February as very cold wet and windy. Caught the bus to a local fishing village which was very pretty with all the colourful boats but it was strangely quiet for a Friday, inBaca lagi
Day 4: Valletta

Bus trip to Valletta only takes 40 minutes, and they run every half hour. Bus drivers operate their own schedule so best to arrive at the stop at least 10mins early and make sure you wave to get themBaca lagi
Day 5: Marsaskala

Early morning run along the seafront. Coffee and croissants with the locals. Lots of fresh fruit and veg for healthy lunches. Inspire is literally 5 mins walk from apartment!
Week 1 of placement

Who would have thought I would spend my first day on placement playing in a ball pool and the rest of the week looking for new toys and equipment!

Day 11: Hazy day in Sliema

After a Friday evening walk along the seafront in Marsaskala and the compulsory stop for beers in a bar (Coffee Calpso ~ small friendly place with a good vibe and Maltese music plus free snacks!)Baca lagi
Day 12: Walking and Talking...

,,,,around Valletta. What a marvellous opportunity to catch up with my niece Hannah who would recommend a 5 day diving course in Meilliah. St Johns Cathedral is incredible and definitely worth aBaca lagi
Week 2 of Placement

Following a risk assessment it has been decided that the Multi sensory rooms are not quite up to the standards expected (See the picture of the broken music board). This is good news for us as one ofBaca lagi
Day 18: A walk to St Thomas Bay

7.00am the construction men start with their jack hammering even on a Saturday!!! So we had to go somewhere slightly more peaceful. Today was hotter then anticipated and guess who forget to put theBaca lagi
Day 19: The Rosary Chapel

This was an unexpected treat! On taking some photographs of the view from a tiny chapel built in 1856 a gentleman in the chapel insisted I followed him to the roof for a better view. I had to climbBaca lagi
Week 3 of Placement

Lovely to meet Roosa an fellow OT student from Finland who will be working with us. We now have a weekly schedule to follow and are hoping we will be able to carry out some OT assessments soon. ItBaca lagi
Day 25: The 3 Cities

The great thing about a placement in Malta is its not too far for family to visit!
Julie and I were persuaded by an elderly ferryman to take a traditional Maltese boat ride from Valletta to the 3Baca lagi
Day 26: Windswept at St Peter's Pool

Marsaxlokk looks completely different on a Sunday with its busy and extensive market selling everything from fresh fish to shoes. Not so much a ghost town now. Bought some local sweet treats for ourBaca lagi
Day 27: Feast of St Joseph

Well its not all sunny and blue sky in Malta. Today started off as a cold wet and windy public holiday. Grace, myself and Julie took the bus to Valletta then onto Mdina and Rabat, for the Feast of StBaca lagi
Week 4 of Placement

Working with different OTs is really helping me formulate styles and approaches that I may wish to adopt once qualified as an OT practice educator in the future.

Day 32: Rest and relaxation

Placement can be exhausting so a restful weekend was in order with frequent visits to my favourite coffee bar 'Coffee Circus'. Found a new car for Jenni. Those of you who know me well know I struggleBaca lagi
Week 5: Getting ready for Easter

Two short weeks for placement as Inspire closes for Easter. Only working Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately our educator was ill with a high fever so it was myself and Grace who had to run theBaca lagi
Day 36: Not much happening!

Day 37: Feeling lucky!

The sun is out the sky is blue and the clouds have gone. The beach is empty and the water beautifully clear. Got my picnic, got my books got my sister's dress on (thanks Ju)and this time rememberedBaca lagi

Day started off with a trip to the airport to collect Caris. Very happy mummy catching up on hugs!

Day 39: Picnic together

Another fine morning for a run then headed to the beach for a picnic. The sea was quite rough today!
Day 40 Easter treats in Valletta

11,964 steps achieved today taking in the sights of Valletta. I think we earned our treats - Gin rose and cranberry cocktails filled with strawberries and blueberries for lunch. Followed by a threeBaca lagi
Day 41: Shopping in Sliema

Exploring Maltese boutiques and tasting the cakes. Bought a new jumper so sunshine is now guaranteed!
Day 42: Windy whistle stop bus tour

Explored the whole of the southwest area of Malta on an open top 'hop on hop off' bus tour!
