Territory Day

Territory Day marks the day when the Northern Territory left Commonwealth control and achieved self-government in 1978. It is the only time in Australia that the public sale, use and possession of fireworks without a permit is legal. The main celebration in Darwin is held at Mindil beach, where hundreds of people bring their own fireworks and music, market stalls, and a professional fireworks display are all provided.Les mer
