Hexham (take 2!)

I have just spent a very pleasant afternoon taking in some of the sights of Hexham.
The Abbey is beautiful inside and out. It has a history as a Benedictine Monastery dating back as far as the 600s. Much of it has been destroyed and rebuilt many times over the years since.
Following an interesting wander around the Abbey, I went to the old gaol house. The history of this place was gory and violent, despite it being linked with the Abbey, in that the judgements were made by the church.
