Eremo delle Carceri

I hiked up (UP - more on that in another post) to the mountainside hermitage where St. Francis went to pray and preach to the birds. It’s since been expanded to several buildings and various other monks have lived and prayed there. It’s surrounded by a really beautiful forest and is one of those special places where you can just feel yourself become a calmer and better version of yourself.
