"Galboda is a budget-friendly trip these days. It's situated a short distance away from Nawalapitiya. The most convenient way to get there is by taking the Badulla train. If you're starting from Colombo, catch the Podi Menike train departing from Colombo Fort at 5:55 in the morning and alight at Galboda station around 10:30 AM.

Our journey began at Kandy railway station. We boarded the train at Kandy, while two of our friends joined us from Colombo. The train was a bit crowded, so we bought second-class tickets. However, we ended up standing. Along the way, our friends allowed us to sit for a while. When our train arrived in the city, it was about five minutes late, so it was around 11:30 when we went to Galboda.

The first thing we did was to take some photos. After that, we quickly left for Galboda Falls. To reach Galboda Falls, while walking along the railway for a short distance towards Nawalapitiya, you will find a staircase. It takes about 45 minutes to go up there and along a small road to the falls. There's a ticket booth near the end of the road where you'll need to buy tickets. I remember it is about 100 rupees per person. Beyond that, a narrow path leads onward. As you follow it, you'll eventually come across a suspension bridge. To reach the waterfall, you'll need to cross this swinging bridge, which can be a bit daring. Nevertheless, it was an exhilarating experience. We crossed this bridge and went to the falls. Adjacent to it, there's a small children's park and a few picturesque viewpoints. After staying there for a while, taking photos, we descended to the base of the falls. The water is very cool. We brought food, and we ate at the viewpoint with our friends. My husband was a bit sick so he didn't go in the water, but we still enjoyed our time.

Originally, we had planned to catch the 3 pm train back. However, that day, the train derailed, so the train arrived around 6 pm. But we enjoyed that time. We picked pomelos from the pomelo tree near the station and ate them. After that, we sang songs on the train that came. It was around 10 o'clock when we arrived in the city."

Galboda Falls, the highlight of our trip, was a breathtaking sight to behold. Cascading down from a great height, the water danced and glistened in the sunlight, creating a mesmerizing display of nature's beauty. The surroundings were lush and vibrant, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. We spent a considerable amount of time exploring the area, captivated by the sheer power and elegance of the falls. There were vantage points that offered spectacular views, allowing us to fully appreciate the grandeur of this natural wonder. As the day began to wind down, we reluctantly tore ourselves away from the falls, cherishing the memories we had created. Galboda Falls had left an indelible mark on us, a testament to the magic that can be found in Sri Lanka's countryside.

The sheer force and elegance of the falls create an almost hypnotic experience, leaving visitors spellbound by its majesty.

Surrounding the falls, a symphony of nature's elements plays harmoniously. Towering trees provide a verdant canopy, allowing dappled sunlight to dance upon the moss-covered rocks. The air is filled with the refreshing mist, carrying with it the invigorating scent of damp earth and wild blossoms. Birdsong weaves through the forest, creating a melodious soundtrack to this idyllic retreat. It's a sanctuary for diverse flora and fauna, a testament to the rich biodiversity of Sri Lanka's interior.

Visitors are invited to partake in the adventure, with a trail leading through the woods to the falls.
