We have decided to take a year out & backpack through a few countries. We hope to learn how to scuba, especially as some of the locations are once in a lifetime! When travelling we will book a couple of nights at each location and then wing it.

    Patnem Beach, India

    January 27, 2007 in India ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Heading down to the beach again, this time it is Goa. We are leaving on the bus at 7:30pm and should arrive sometime the next morning. This time it is a luxury recliner for 700 rupees each, the term 'luxury' is questionable !
Bus trip was not very good, firstly this little bus boy tried to bribe us to keep our luggage safe and then this poor passenger was continuosly sick (five times) without the bus pulling over .... so sleeping was out of the question for the night. Our favorite beach location at Patnem, and Agonda beach was very peaceful.

In the midst of this sea of people, suddenly you come face to face with the ramparts of the Red Fort. The decision for constructing the fort was taken in 1639, when Shahjahan decided to shift his capital to Delhi. Within eight years, Shahjahanabad was completed with the Red Fort-Qila-i-Mubarak (fortunate citadel)-Delhi's seventh fort, ready in all its magnificence to receive the Emperor. Though much has changed now because of large-scale demolitions during the British occupation of the fort, its important structures have survived, the glory faded with age but still impressiveRead more
