First day in Cartagena

Stayed 1 day and 2 nights in Cartagena. Enjoyed the beach and the pool at the Hilton. Tried out the Columbian beer of course. Lots of peddlers on the beach which became annoying. Douglas, Jacqui's friend was a great help in picking us up from the airport and giving us a tour inside the old city walls. We also toured a business that has an emerald museum they and make jewelry there. We will be coming back with the volunteer group in about a week. We had dinner with Douglas and his son-in-law at his favorite restaurant. We enjoyed seafood and a Mediterranean appetizer we had never had before.
At noon we hired a taxi to drive us to Santa Marta, about 4.5 hrs drive to the NLeia mais
