    The city of Flagstaff maintains this area of natural and cultural beauty. The Rio de Flag runs through the landscape and a short canyon. The “pictures” are pictographs pecked into the rocks by the Sinagua people between 700-1300 AD. A Sinagua pit house is also on the rim of the canyon.
