Cape Royal

The winding, narrow road to Cape Royal is about 15 miles from the Lodge, but seems longer. This is the Southern-most viewpoint on the North Rim. The trail passes by Angel's Window, one of the most famous formations in the Grand Canyon. You can see the Colorado River through the window, from some vantage points.

The North Rim is 1000 ft higher than the South Rim, and because of that, it gets more rain and snow. Consequently, more erosion occurs, which over the centuries has created more side canyons and "islands" off the edge of the canyon walls.Les mer
