    Southwell Cathedral was completed in 1300, as a stopping point for the archbishop on his journey between York and Canterbury Cathedrals. It has twin "pepper pot" towers, beautiful carvings, statues, and windows!

    The Archbishop's Palace is also on the grounds. The old palace was ruined during the Civil War, except for the Great Room. The manor house was added onto the surviving Great Room, and is used now as the cathedral choir school and practice area.
