An oval field surrounds the long "pitch". There's a wicket at each end of the pitch.

The bowler runs as he throws the ball towards the batter.

Batters use a flat bat in various ways to hit the ball.

After hitting the ball the two batters run to opposite ends of the pitch as many times as they can.

Batters touch the bat in front of the wickets; each time counts as a run.
