While Dean and Earl were working, I did a short hike to see more of the small canyon we were in. Found some interesting ledges and caves, as well as an old corral.

After they were finished with their work, we drove around some more very bumpy roads to see an overlook into Sycamore Canyon Wilderness. I'd love to go back and hike there, but that road was so rough, we ached all over when we got out!Baca selengkapnya

Old Caves Crater

This is a moderate hike to the top of an old volcano, which used to have a Sinagua settlement on top. The pueblo was destroyed by souvenir hunters years ago, but what remains are some “caves” where the Sinagua people mined lava rocks to use for building their dwellings. From the top of the crater are nice views of the Peaks and surrounding areas.Baca selengkapnya

Aspen Nature Loop

This easy 1.8 mile hike starts from Snowbowl Ski Area and meanders through aspens and conifers. There are beautiful views of surrounding peaks. I found a plant I couldn’t identify, but I’ve been told it has a symbiotic relationship with the tree’s roots.Baca selengkapnya
