Montevideo 🇺🇾

Our last stop on this incredible cruise brought us to Montevideo, Uruguay. And honestly? It wasn’t quite love at first sight. After all the jaw-dropping nature and wildlife in the Falkland Islands and Antarctica, arriving in the city felt like someboday burst our bubble and a cold splash of reality. Suddenly, we weren’t surrounded by penguins and peace but by people and cars. Lots of them.

Don’t get me wrong, Montevideo is pretty and I'm super grateful to see all the different stops. The old town has charm, the weather was perfect, and we strolled through the streets before heading to the bay. But after the serene, untouched landscapes we’d been spoiled with, it felt a bit... overwhelming.

Still, we made the best of it! Maybe we’ll give Montevideo another chance someday. Next stop: Patagonia ☀️

Unser letzter Stopp auf dieser unglaublichen Kreuzfahrt hat uns nach Montevideo, Uruguay, gebracht. Und ganz ehrlich? Es war nicht wirklich Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Nach all der atemberaubenden Natur und Tierwelt auf den Falklandinseln und in der Antarktis fühlte sich die Ankunft in einer Großstadt an als hätte jemand unsere Blase zum Platzen gebracht. Plötzlich waren wir nicht mehr von Pinguinen, Walen und Ruhe umgeben, sondern von Menschen und Autos.

Nicht falsch verstehen, Montevideo ist hübsch und ich bin sehr dankbar, dass wir das alles sehen können. Die Altstadt hat Charme, das Wetter war perfekt, und wir sind durch die Straßen spaziert und bis zur Bucht geschlendert. Aber nach den ruhigen, unberührten Landschaften, mit denen wir vorher verwöhnt wurden, war es irgendwie... zu viel.

Wir haben trotzdem das Beste draus gemacht! Vielleicht geben wir Montevideo eines Tages noch eine zweite Chance. Nächster Halt: Patagonien ☀️もっと詳しく
