Tybee Beach Ecology Trip

This was definitely one of our favorite activities. Dr Joe was the neatest man and obviously loves what he does. A half hour before our scheduled time we were at dinner watching the pouring rain and listening to the thunder roll. And we found out his trips the prior 2 nights had been cancelled due to storms. But bless his heart, he kept texting me saying he thought the storm would pass and sure enough it did. We found a lot of things on the beach, in the tide pools and seining with a net. Found an elusive ghost shrimp, a fiddler crab, some blue crabs and various fish. We were very lucky in that a fisherman very close to us caught a sting ray and a little shark so we were able to see and touch them. It turned out to be a beautiful evening on the beach and very educational.Læs mere
