Why didn't we write CVs before we came?!

It's night bus day! Tonight we caught the 7pm night bus to take us from Airlie Beach to Rainbow Beach, a journey of 15 hours. We had to check out at 11am and we hadn't packed anything so we didn't really get a lie in today to recover from yesterday's action packed fun. Having said that I fell asleep last night at 8:30pm so you know waking up at 7:30am wasn't so bad! I didn't want to wake Nick so left a note and sat downstairs in the wifi area surrounded by about 10 Australian turkeys that were roaming around. Once he was awake we packed up all our things, had some breakfast and went to check out. Luckily the hostel has luggage storage so we put our luggage in there knowing we'd be able to access it later at 6pm before our coach. Seeing as we had so much time on our hands we decided today is the day we write our CVs. We were pretty much starting from scratch with it. There is a travel shop near our hostel that has computers that you can pay $2 or 1.20 in pounds to rent to use for the whole day. How cheap is that! It's a pretty cool place and we sat on wooden swings with ivy climbing up them writing and swinging away. It took longer than we excepted; it's hard writing about yourself sometimes. We were determined to finish though becuase we have two weeks left until we arrive in New Zealand so now is the time to start applying for jobs. I've also seen a screen printing assistant job advertised on a backpackers website so I wanted to get my application in as soon as possible. After about 4.5 hours we had finished and were ready to treat ourselves for our achievement. We've been eyeing up the cooked chickens you buy in supermarkets for a while now and decided today was the day we finally gave in. It was great but so much chicken! We also had salad and strawberries to finish. Once we'd collected our bags it was time to go and catch the night bus. We arrived over half and hour early and sat with other passengers waiting. We struck up conversation with a lone traveller who had been living in Thailand for 4 months helping teach scuba diving, and she's only just graduated. The bus was an hour late arriving and leaving so it was a painful time but finally we're on board. It's a bit too early to attempt sleep yet we feel so we're sat reading and luckily not many people are on the bus so we have double seats to ourselves. How much sleep we actually get will be interesting to find out.Leer más
