    Lake Brockman Tourist Park is set in the beautiful surroundings of the state forest, 10 minutes away from the Harvey townsite.

    We have caravan & camping facilities, three ablution blocks, a laundry and a camp kitchen for your convenience. If you don't have a caravan or tent, stay in one of our cosy cabins.

    You can bring your canoe, or swim in the clear fresh water of Logue Brok Dam. You can also fish for trout all year round and catch Marron in-season.

    Sit on the Cafe balcony overlooking the forest and dam, while having a fresh coffee, devonshire tea or a light lunch.

    Lake Brockman has both powered & non-powered sites in different sizes to accommodate for those large RV's, down to the small two-man tents.

    For those that don't own a tent or Caravan, we have Cabin's available equipped with reverse-cycle air conditioning & a kitchenette.

    New Norcia is located 130 km north-east of Perth via the Great Northern Highway.

    When the Benedictine Monks established their mission on the banks of the Moore River they named it New Norcia after Norcia in Italy which was the birthplace of the order's founder, St Benedict.

    New Norcia is a little piece of the Mediterranean in the Australian bush. It is a combination of a monastery, schools, a church, a hotel, a working farm, a beehive, wells, an art gallery and a museum.     Paynes Find, WA

    Paynes Find is a former gold rush settlement with a rich seam of pioneering and prospecting history approximately five hours north of Perth in the Mid West region of WA.

    The small pastoral and mining community of Paynes Find forms part of the Shire of Yalgoo.
    The townsite was gazetted in 1911, the same year the Paynes Find Gold Battery was constructed.

    The town is named after the prospector, Thomas Payne, who was the first to discover gold in the area and was the first to register a lease for gold mining with the Mines Department. As a reward for his discovery, he was allowed to crush his first find of gold-bearing ore through the State Government Battery, free of charge.

    By the 1930s the town had prospered and the population was estimated at about 500. In 1987 the battery was sold to the Taylor family. The Gold Battery is now a tourist attraction and still operates today, making it the only working gold battery in Western Australia. A visit to the battery museum will also uncover a host of relics from the local mining, pastoral and sandalwood industries.

    From late July to September, thousands of nature lovers are drawn to the region by the promise of treasure of a floral kind, as spring wildflower season turns the outback landscape into a blanket of vibrant colour. Picnic in blooms of pink, yellow and white everlastings while you spot emus, kangaroos, wedge tailed eagles and Bungarra lizards in their natural habitat.    Leggi altro

    This free camp is about one hour north of Port Headland and just over three hours south of Eight Mile Beach.

    What we have noticed with most free camps in the upper part of Western Australia, is they are well thought out.

    They all generally have several undercover seating areas. Along with BBQ’s, long drop toilets and rubbish bins which are frequently cleaned and lined with new bags.

    Pulling in to this very large camping area we noticed it had two sections. The top area which will fit many large rig’s.    Leggi altro

    Derby is located 2392 km north of Perth via the shorter, inland route or 2515 km via the coast road. It is 222 km north-east of Broome.

    Derby is a small service town with a huge wharf surrounded by unique and special attractions. Its importance for visitors lies in its position at the western end of the Gibb River Road; its closeness to Mowanjum Aboriginal Art & Culture Centre with its magical exhibition of Wandjina creation images; its fascinating, if disturbing, Boab Prison tree; its access to the largest coral reef in Australia; its regular flights to the magical Horizontal Falls; and its magical story of Jandamarra (Pigeon), the daring local First Nation warrior who outwitted the local police and became a hero to his people. Derby is a strange outback town which, like so many of the towns in the Kimberley, is more important because of the surrounding attractions rather than any appeal that might exist within the town.     We have two 5m X 2.5m pontoons equipped with a 20hp motor, gas barbecue,toilet and is licensed to carry 10 passengers.
    These pontoons are fantastic value for groups of families and friends, are child and pet friendly with a fully enclosed cage and lockable gate and with loads of room to enjoy an afternoon BBQ or relaxing paddle in the lake with our supplied pool noodles. For a small fee, we can also supply an Esky with ice and cooking utensils. And for the extra comfort, a small toilet can be found on board.
    Greg and his team have over 20 years of experience on the lake and will be more than happy to advise on the best spots to see wildlife and cast a line.

    Please note if you wish to fish, a WA Fishing License will be required.

    Ivanhoe Crossing, Kununurra WA

    Ivanhoe Crossing was originally part of the main Kununurra to Wyndham Road.
    This concrete causeway was built over the mighty Ord River and remains in flow year round. The crossing is a great place to cast a line in search of the elusive barramundi, or to enjoy sunset across the river.
    Depending on road openings, it may be possible to drive over the crossing, however it is important to bear in mind that the crossing itself is wide, and the current from the river very strong. Road access to the opposite side of the crossing is also possible via the Victoria Highway (travelling in the direction of Wyndham), turning off the highway to follow signage to Valentine Springs, Black Rock Falls and Middle Springs.

    Estuarine crocodiles can be seen at Ivanhoe Crossing, so the area is not safe for swimming. Please pay attention to the safety signage at the crossing itself.    Leggi altro

    The Hoochery Distillery, Kununurra WA

    Built on the Dessert family farm just outside of Kununurra, the small pot distillery was created entirely by hand. Everything, from the still to the building itself, was crafted from materials found around the farm. Spike even taught himself to distil, with nothing more than a passion to make good, honest rum.

    And after 25 years, nothing’s changed. Made from Australian sugarcane, wet season rainwater, and yeast, our Ord River Rum’s still made by hand. It’s vat-fermented, pot-distilled, painstakingly aged in oak barrels, and hand-bottled by us. The 300-litre oak barrels naturally colour and flavour our rum, giving you a smooth, tropical flavour, with an oaky finish.    Leggi altro

    Located just outside of Kununurra & over the famous Ivanhoe Crossing you’ll find this slice of paradise. Complete with a resident salt water Crocs measuring up at over 5m long.

    The reason this place is called Buttons is from the river rock that makes up the ground that you camp on. The smooth round shape on the stones give it a button look. Which by the way was a nice change from the red dust & dirt. Our highlight was falling asleep to the sound of running water of a night being parked up near the water. (but not too close)Leggi altro

    Ord River Diversion Dam, Kununurra WA

    Kununurra’s Diversion Dam is part of the Ord Irrigation Scheme and was designed to harness the massive volume of water that flows down the Ord River for use in farming.

    Located roughly 6 kilometres west of the town, the dam is used to regulate the water level of Lake Kununurra/Ord River.

    On a visit to the Diversion Dam you can see 20 radial gates mounted within a concrete framework and spillway structure. The irrigation system relies on gravity to pull the water into channels which then flow to farms to the north and south of the town.

    Above the Diversion Dam, Lake Kununurra is formed which is popular for all kinds of water sports including cruising, boating, fishing, and jet skiing.    Leggi altro

    Two Jays Caravan and Camping is located at Bynoe in the Northern Territory and is situated on a 280 acre property that has the Finniss River as its rear boundary. The campground is newly established, having only opened in April 2019, and owners John and Julie are continuing to develop facilities.

    The property has 24 powered campsites and there is also plenty of open space suitable for those who don’t need power. Everything from tents through to large motorhomes is catered for. The land that the sites are on is elevated, which is handy if you’re there in the wet season. Sites are level and there is some shade available. You are welcome to stay as long as you like, even long-term. Dogs are welcome as well but must be kept on a leash. For those in a group, or large families, there is also a 4-bedroom homestead available to stay in that sleeps up to eight people.

    Facilities at Two Jays Caravan and Camping include an amenities block consisting of eight ensuite-style bathrooms, each with toilet, shower and basin, and a guests’ laundry. For socialising with other travellers you can gather around the communal fireplace, or if you have your own above-ground fire pit, you’re welcome to use that too. If there’s no wood by the fireplace you can collect some from around the property. The campground also has a shop where you can buy ice, gas, bait, drinks, basic food items, and other supplies.

    If you’re looking for something to keep you occupied at Two Jays, there are plenty of animals including cattle, horses, buffalo, goats, guinea fowl, and dogs that you can say hello to and feed. Or you can head to the river and try your luck at catching black bream, redclaw (a freshwater crayfish) or cherabin (freshwater prawn).

    John and Julie, who both used to work in the hospitality industry, have lived in the area for more than 20 years. They know the region well and offer good old-fashioned service and country hospitality.

    HOW TO GET THERE
    Hardcastle Road runs south from Fog Bay Road a few hundred metres east of Sandpalms Roadhouse at Bynoe (so if you’re coming from the east and you get to the roadhouse, you’ve gone too far). Two Jays Caravan and Camping is the first property on the right on Hardcastle Road and is well signed.

    SITE ACCESS
    The campground has room to accommodate vehicles and RVs of all sizes. After driving through the gateway into the property, follow the track for around 100 metres and stop at the first building on the left. Honk your horn and someone will come to help you. If arriving after 7 pm, phone first and they’ll tell you what you need to do on arrival.

    FEES & BOOKINGS

    Dundee Beach is a relaxed coastal town and popular fishing spot 120 kilometres south-west of Darwin.

    Situated on the shores of Fog Bay, this beach settlement is a popular weekend destination for Darwin locals, where many own a ‘beach shack’.

    Fishing is popular at the nearby Perron Islands, Point Blaze, Finniss River and Bynoe Harbour where you can fish the blue water or nearby river systems. Hang out at the popular Lodge of Dundee for a pub meal and friendly social banter. Services are available at Dundee Lodge including groceries, postal services, fuel, bait and ice. Dundee Lodge is situated within the grounds of the Dundee Beach Holiday Park where cabin and camping facilities including coin operated gas BBQs, a laundromat and showers are available.
