• Quirpon

    August 29 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

Quirpon is a shallow Chanel of water that cuts the tip of Newfoundland off and makes it an island. Bit of a wriggle to get in on the east side but it is protected by a low hanging electrical cable about 20 metres from the water. And our mast is about 19.5 plus an aerial. Tarquin kinda volunteers to go up to the top of the mast, as we are sailing towards it to make sure we are clearing it. He looks a lot less confident as we get close, and I start to worry we might get an entry in the Darwin awards.
Luckily all went well, if only by a smidge and Tarquin will get to breed. Top spot plenty of walks and great views even a few whales in the bay. One comes up next to the boat as we sup our first tinny and surprises us with a big blow. To moorow shopping in St Anthony’s (again)
