How far would you go for cake!

    February 2 in Malta ⋅ 🌬 13 °C

Today we decided to forgo public transport and walk to Victoria. Once there we decided that cake would be the best option for lunch and made our way to the craft village for the best cake ever! Having looked at maps we saw we were not far from Ghammer Hill, beautiful statues of the story of Jesus Crucifixion. We then walked back to Victoria for a wander around Rundle Gardens and then back to watch the sunset in Xlendi bay with a glass of wine.Read more

  • Beautiful coastal walk

    February 3 in Malta ⋅ 🌬 16 °C

Today we tried to walk to the harbour, however the trail was a bit close to the edge for me. We headed inland and found a bar for lunch. Then heading to the next village to see a basilica and then onto Victoria to buy some bus cards as Brandon declared he is done with walking for this holiday!! We then walked back to the hotel to sit on the terrace to watch the sun setRead more

  • Relaxation day🧘‍♀️

    February 4 in Malta ⋅ 🌬 14 °C

Today went to Xaghra for a mini spa day. We had a private session in a jacquzzi and sauna followed by a full body couples massage. We then floated onto the coronation bistro in the square for a beautiful late lunch with a pint. Catching the bus back to the hotel we then relaxed in the room missing evening meal as was to chilled to move.Read more

  • In search of a good pint

    February 5 in Malta ⋅ 🌬 16 °C

Today was focused around going for a drink in the oldest bar in Gozo; Gleneagles, unfortunately it appears to be closed! Absolutely gutted.
The day started with us walking into Victoria to do a little sightseeing around the citadel then a bus to Nadur to find the best bakery on the island; Mekrens . We ordered a gorgeous cheese, potato and sausage closed Ftira. Then a walk down to Mgarr to discover the pub was shut 😭 After a brief coastal walk we then caught the bus to Victoria. On a recommendation from Martin (our holiday friend) we went to Mayas kitchen for a few drinks, such a lovely place we will be dining there on Saturday.Read more

  • Getting Wet!

    February 6 in Malta ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Today was awesome!! We took a boat over to Comino the island between Malta and Gozo. There are only 2 current residents who are also the island custodians. Their families have resided there for generations. We walked the outskirts visiting the abandoned pig farm, isolation hospital and the battery. Brandon had a swim in the blue lagoon. The journey back was fast and very wet!! Whilst waiting for the bus we noticed that the Gleneagles bar was open, result!! A couple of swift pints then back to the hotel to start packing and dinner. We going to venture out to a bar with live music later... Non stop today!!Read more

  • Last day blues

    February 7 in Malta ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

After a lazy morning we walked to a nearby trail, after a quick assessment I decided it was to high for me so Brandon went on alone. We then caught the bus to Wied il Ghasri gorge which was absolutely stunning!! We had planned to swim here but the sea was far to rough, we sat and enjoyed the view. We then walked along the coast past the salt pans on to Xwenji Bay and then on to Marsalforn Bay. We enjoyed a lovely coffee by the beach in the sun. We then decided to drop our bags off at the hotel to go back into Victoria for the carnival and Valentine's market. Due to the rain the carnival was cancelled and the market was scaled down. However we still enjoyed a wonderful meal at Mayas Kitchen; Rabbit stew for me and a massive triple cheese burger for Brandon.Read more
