Red Colobus at Jozani Forest

The destination of today's excursion was the Jozani Forest, about 40 mins drive from Kizimkazi. This forest is famous for a very rare species, the Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkey. As the name says, exists this monkey only on Zanzibar with a population of about 5000. The tour through the forest was very nice, as everything is kept naturally and the human interfering in nature is much limited. Apart from the Red Colobus, there are mangroves to see as well as the only jungle of Zanzibar. The tour was short, nevertheless I returned happily back to the hotel, where I've spent the rest of the day.Read more
