In 2013, my son Chris was married in Kualur Lumpur. Dani and I decided to extend our trip with a visit to India, and a stay in Dubai - two places which we'd been interested in for some time.

A long drive along a new (pretty well deserted) motorway had us flashing past lots of farmland, and hundreds of "universities" which specialised in pretty much everything, it seemed.

Agra Fort

Agra to Delhi

Back to Delhi the long way, through hundreds of little villages - much more interesting. The roads leave quite a bit to be desired in places - speedhumps on motorways??
Old Delhi

Whilst we weren't enamoured of Delhi, A visit to Old Delhi was much more interesting. Little food stalls and markets, and a cool rickshaw ride through it all.
Qutub Minar

Next, we visited the UNESCO World Heritage site of Qutub Minar, a collection of historic buildings. Very peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of Delhi.
Humayans Tomb

Our first day in Abu Dhabi we took a guided tour.. Abu Dhabi is really nice, as was everybody we met. Some of the buildings are simply gob-smacking.
Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi

Sheik Zayfed Mosque

Leaving Abu Dhabi, we were driven back to Dubai, but on the way we stopped at the stunning, amazing Sheik Zayfed Mosque. Dani had to dress in a Burka before being allowed to enter :)
