Leeds canal and train to York

I dreaded the walk through Leeds after dropping off the rental car and getting to the train station. Maps had me walking along busy industrial roads but the nice rental car man told me how to get to the canal. My walk ended up a nice 5km walk along the Leeds canal and past the Hunslet colliery where some of my ancestors worked at the turn of last century. In the photo were the rubble is their houses stood.
Then a very pleasant train ride to York. I do enjoy train travel.En savoir plus
