Day 17 Colle Val d’Elsa to San Gimignano

Another 15 km day but although shortish it was quite tough with 490m ascent. There was also quite a lot of asphalt walking. The ups and downs were through farmers fields of grape vines and olive groves. I’m not so good at walking the ups. San Gimignano is humming. I will treat myself to a gelato when most of the crowds have gone. I saw a cinghiale (wild bore and a local delicacy) riding a vesper in a shop. 2 local icons. There was a man dressed in costume and he looked like he was some sort of preacher. He looked pretty serious.Read more
