• Day 36 - Whangarei - Day 4

    9. marraskuuta 2024, Uusi Seelanti ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Janice and Mark and two of their friends went to the North Club for a meal. Very nice Thai Beef Salad for me. Forgot to take a picture sorry. The other couple, English by birth have lived in Whangarei for about 8 years. They have just returned from 4 months overseas great hearing about where they have been.
This morning I cranked up the camper and with Janice and Mark's guidance I backed out the drive. A couple of corrections but then away I went.
I meet Kim for morning tea. Kim's late parents were super people and although we only meet once or twice in real life we spent a lot of time on the phone - as you do. Both Sheila and Tom are fondly remembered. They are part of the extended family tree. Like the Pollard tree, so it was tough trying to remember the connections. Kim and her husband have just had 8 weeks in the UK researching, seeing attractions and relatives. Two hours went nowhere.
After that I went and filled the campervan up with water. I had left my hose connections some place and got another one on Thursday. Also got fuel, so I will be good to hit the road tomorrow.
This afternoon Janice took me to the Quarry Gardens. It was damaged a lot in Gabriel but through volunteers they are restoring it. Pretty neat place.
I forgot to post the clock next to the Hundertwasser Museum the other day
