  • Hiking around Huaraz

    December 9, 2017 in Peru ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Some very beautiful days hiking around the Codillera Blancas, between 4000 and 4700m so definitely feeling the altitude but I also feel slightly adjusted which feels like quite and achievement for persisting. Lots of glaciers, clear blue and turquoise lakes and dramatic rock faces. So so pretty and refreshing! The lakes are used for hydroelecticy so there are lots of pipes bringing the water down.Read more

  • Tatacoa Desierto

    December 16, 2017 in Colombia ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Went for a very sweaty and hot bike ride in the Tatacoa Desert which was about 40 degrees I think! It is about 330 square km. It's not actually a desert but a dry tropical forest. The name tatacoa refers to the Spanish word for rattle snacks.Read more

  • Spanish Adventure San Carlos

    December 19, 2017 in Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Learning Spanish here for a couple of weeks. We are the only gringos in the area so it should help us a lot :) there's lots of waterfalls and small hikes around this small town and some very friendly locals. They do a couple of hours of classes in the morning and then an "adventure" in the afternoon where you have to speak Spanish. Ellie and Lucy came here in May.Read more

  • Medellin

    December 29, 2017 in Colombia ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

Went to Medellin, a lovely and beautiful city for a few over new year with Cristian, David and Paras (the friends we made in San Carlos). We did a walking tour, ate some great pizza, went to a 1930s castle, to some great view points from the cable cars and visited near by Guatape which is a man made lake made to increase agriculture.Read more

Spent a couple of days exploring and hiking around Tayrona National Park which is one of the prettiest places I've been I think! Very hot but some lovely beaches and trails through the jungle. Saw some monkeys, played some cards and had a very relaxing time!Read more

  • Finca Carpe Diem

    January 9, 2018 in Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Staying on a finca (farm) Lodge for a couple of days. Very peaceful! You have to get a very bumpy taxi to get up here but the views are amazing and we are surrounded by waterfalls, cats, coffee and chocolate farms, bee keeping and many more wholesome lovely things to do!Read more

  • Lost city trek

    January 13, 2018 in Colombia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Inhabited from 700 to 1600 until the Spanish came, gave the women lots of diseases and the people left because they thought mother earth was punishing them! There are four main tribes still in this area all with their own language and they have basically no contact with civilization except from tourism. I asked and they don't mind the tourists because it's spreading awareness about them and they get some money from tour groups, but the tours do stop in September to rid the area of the negative energy tourists bring.Read more
