    On the road

    Up at 6am showered, packed had breakfast and got on the coach and off to Jaipur, 3 hours later stopping for lunch in Mot Maharani.     Relaxed at hotel after day out then went out for dinner and saw a couple of Indian weddings on route plus elephant, and had dinner with entertainment, dancing gypsy girls accompanied by male singers and drummers. Followed by carrot pudding (delicious) back to hotel and looking for Marsala coffee, apparently it doesn't exist

    Woke up after a night of severe dog barking, well ear plugs fixed that, thunder, lightning and showers this morning with intermittent power cuts, having an Indian breakfast before I hit the road. Poha, parantha with lemon ginger tea and other bits and pieces.     This morning gives had breakfast then went for a bike ride. Had tea at a locals house and met his family and had chai tea after which we cycled back.

    After this we drove to the step well at Abhaneri which was amazing, then looked at the temple that is being rebuilt by the Indian government after being sacked by the Mugals who came from Persian in the, 8th and 9th century, we then went to the market where we had chai tea in clay cups that you break after you use them saw a bracelet being made then drove to Agra where we are now having dinnerLæs mere

    Got to see 3 monuments today, the Red Fort, baby Taj Mahal and the actual Taj Mahal, very foggy so took a while before we could actually see it but saw it inside and out in the end, although it was definitely approaching wwlll to get a picture on the Diana bench which I'd never actually heard of before, then had an amazing lunch and just had a foot massageLæs mere

    King's Palace

    Woke up very early left to catch train at 06:45, was supposed leave at 08:00 but left on Indian time 09:45

    Had breakfast on the train, South Indian food, 3 hours later arrived in Jhasi and transferred to the little bus and went for a lovely lunch before heading to the Kings Palace in Alipura. Watched the sunset in tandem with a rum and coke followed by watching Ash cook Gunli Mas in the kitchen , a Mutton dish for those not in the know.

    Had a nice lie in and went for a walk to find a working ATM, found one with an armed guard, money sorted back to hotel met up with the others and then went for a proper nose round, now having a light lunch before we decide what to do next.     Arrived in Varanasi after 14 hours on the overnight train, great experience never to be repeated, had lunch then took a tuk tuk to the Ganges and watched the cremation ceremony followed by the puja ceremony.     Up at 6am to go and watch sunrise on the Ganges, it was pretty impressive, made our way back dodging the many goats and went back to hotel for breakfast. Then went on a tour of the local Silk making industry both handmade and automated, very interesting after which we were shown some silk wares and eventually offered Chai tea as is the custom and then made a few purchases before heading for lunchLæs mere
