We arrived in New York and stayed overnight at the flushing condo. I got to eat some good food and walked around flushing a bit. I bought a joint and explored the neighborhood. I also stopped by to eat at a local restaurant and got jianbings. Outside of the main central Chinese area, it’s actually super nice and family oriented. There’s a park nearby where a lot of families were playing in.

Reunion plus FDR Museum

Today we ventured up to the FDR museum in Poughkeepsie. We met up with the grandparents. I also met minas friend, Calvin. We all rode the train together up to Poughkeepsie.

First day of the cruise. I won’t create footprints of each day of the cruise just because I don’t really feel the need to.

We met up with aunt Kathy, Paul, and Reece. Most of the cruise was just spent working for me. It’s interesting that they use starlink as their internet provider as obviously there are no cell towers on the ocean. When a rain cloud passed by overhead, the wifi would just cut out.

Overall working on a cruise was a very unpleasant experience and I wouldn’t do it again. The wifi was bad, everyone was having fun without me and I had to be inside most of the time.

Other noteworthy things that happened: I learned to play shuffleboard, I won some money at the casino, and we watched an absolutely awful stand up comedian.

Grandpas birthday dinner was somewhat ruined by the cruise staff giving us a crappy table - my dad raised a big stink about it and they replaced our waiter with another guy that was almost too eager but he had really good EQ.Read more
