    Since the 500’s they predict some sort of occupation and residency here. St Columbia visited in AD 580. Alan Durand supposedly built the first castle in 1220. In the 1300’s it was a medieval fort. A refuge in the 1400’s in the battle between the MacDonalds and the Crown. And the Grants residence in the 1500’s.Read more
