Pink Pigeon

Another day at sea as we head toward Port Richards so time for the Pink Pigeon, one more vulnerable species found exclusively in Mauritius. It nearly became extinct in the 1970s when only 10 birds remained but due to the efforts of the Durell Wildlife trust its numbers increased to 500 by 2011 and more by now.
