Today we head back to Auckland, it was a lovely few days staying in the Bay of Islands and taking in the history of the Maori people. A shame we did not see the whales but a pod of dolphins still was a great treat.Læs mere

Paralympics New Zealand Spirit of Gold

Before we went home we went via the CBD as it was the Paralympics New Zealand Spirit of Gold Mufti Day. They were celebrating one year to go until the start of the Paralympic Games with a cool new pop up Paralympic Games experience. We had a go at virtual reality blind football.Læs mere

We stayed in today to catch up on the washing and have a rest after our mini break. Melissa and Charlie both have colds so it was just nice being home and not doing anything except play with Charlie.

Again not much happening, Luke and Melissa are trying to sell their car before heading back to Australia. John and Luke went to a place where you can sell your car privately , but alas no luck. We also needed to stock up on groceries but first McDonalds for coffee.Læs mere

It's my Birthday

Todays adventure was a trip to the Aquarium, it was so much better than I thought and really worth the visit. Especially as on your birthday it is free, bonus.

The Aquarium opened in 1985 by a New Zealand underwater adventurer Kelly Tarlton, we have thought visiting before when visiting Melissa but as they leaving soon it was a gift for us for my birthday and fathers day. The Aquarium houses thousands of marine animals from hundreds of species, including sharks, penguins, turtles, stingrays, seahorses, fish, so many penguins and some we had never seen before. It is also home to the largest penguin colony in the Southern Hemisphere and is New Zealand's only turtle rescue centre.

Melissa made a lovely chocolate cake for my birthday, it was a great day.Læs mere

Gardening Day

Stay at home day, as we have been to Auckland before and the reason for a trip was to be with Melissa, Luke and Charlie . John did some gardening and I played with Charlie.

Sky Tower

Today is going to be busy. Wriggle and Rhyme with Charlie at St Helliers, Lunch for my birthday and fathers day at Sky Tower and Luke is flying a plane which is an experience her received as a present..

We walked along the Bay for a little with Charlie before wriggle and rhyme started. Melissa was not that impressed with this wriggle and rhyme but for us it was more about watching Charlie. We then went to Sky Tower for a lovely meal. The day was finished with Luke doing a flight simulator into Auckland airport.Læs mere

Leaving Day

Today we leave Auckland, we enjoyed our time here but we are looking forward to being home for a few months so we can do a few things around Camperdown Castle which require attendance.

The Wilson's will be back in Australia November so we are looking forward to more time with family.Læs mere
