You never never know if you never never go so we are going. So we are off touring the sites of Northern Territory. Alice ,Uluru and Kings Canyon back to Alice in a Motorhome. Fly to Darwin and drive to Jabiru, Katherine and then back to Darwin. Read more

Discovery Parks Kings Canyon

We are now at the Caravan Park overnight.

We are getting very good at setting up, it only takes 5 min.

Now for a walk around the campground and to the pub for a drink and use of their Wi-Fi as the Caravan Park does not have Wi-Fi.Read more

Goodbye Kings Canyon

Goodbye Kings Canyon, your facilities are great for being in the middle of nowhere.

However, no phone service only emergency call was disappointing considering at the Canyon we had service. So, no catching up with Find Penguins or even my game. Even at the pub no Wi-Fi or phone service only a landline from Telstra.

Last night we also had a power outage but no dingos.

Driving to Alice

We will share the drive as it is on the same roads we drove to Uluru and Kings Canyon, it is 5 hour long boring drive.

We did come across melons growing along the road side.

We are very confident driving the Motorhome now and happy to keep to the speed limit.Read more

Back to the Campground

We had to take the beaten track back to the campground as there was a fatality on the highway. The drive was very dusty and bumpy.

Back now and time to start packing and cleaning the van.

Not my type of museum but the photography very interesting and showed how much different life is now.

Not into Rocks but some where very pretty.

The skeletons and animals are interesting.

Connellan Airways

Found another interesting spot to investigate.

EJ Connellan and Connellan Airways, the ‘world’s biggest little airline’, pioneered aviation from its base, ‘Townsite’ aerodrome, in Alice Springs from 1939 until 1968. The original Connellan Hangar remains on what is now the Central Australian Aviation Museum precinct and is a salute to pioneering aviation.

It played a vital role in breaking down isolation in the Outback with regular mail and freight runs, urgent medical help, survey and passenger transport to remote Aboriginal and mining communities, and charter flights for tourists to some of Australia’s most iconic destinations.Read more

Kookaburra Memorial

The Kookaburra Memorial is dedicated to Keith Anderson and Bob Hitchcock. Anderson and Hitchcock died after their aircraft, the 'Kookaburra', was forced to land in the Tanami Desert on 10 April 1929 while searching for Charles Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm.

The wreck was found after fourteen days. It was then abandoned until 1978 when it was recovered by aviator and adventurer Dick Smith.Read more

Tesla to the Airport

Dropped off the Motorhome and took a ride in a Tesla taxi to the empty airport.

Our flight is at 6.45 pm and as it is hours away, I have set up my mobile office.
