South Coast of NSW

Still unable to travel overseas so we are continuing with our Adventures around NSW. This time we are going south and camping for 10 days in Bateman's Bay. We plan on catching up with the Beere's, Forest's, resting and short drives in the area. Read more

    Morning tea in Berry and a look in my favourite shop Space and Haven. I cannot go past this shop without purchasing something. This time a glass jug and oven gloves.

    It is so busy here so many old people , wait that's us.

    Back on the road, the rain has stopped, fingers crossed it stays that way.

  • All set up

    All set up some fine tuning tomorrow but everything went well. Took a little while to work out the new set up but it looks great and very comfy.

    We even had guests for dinner. Richard and Bronwyn brought over a bottle of bubbles and some yummy food.

    Good sleep last night the tent and gazebo held up to the rain.

    John has fine tuned the electrical and ensured the Tent and Gazebo are secure.

    Now to go into Batemans Bay for groceries and lunch.

    Well the day did not turn into a relaxing one. By the time we finished the grocery shopping purchased a few things for the tent had a coffee unpacked had lunch back out again to Bunnings it was dinner time. Richard and Bronwyn came around for a BBQ it was more great conversation.Read more

  • Relaxation yipee

    Looks like a lovely day. Woke up around 8 then went for a walk to the beach which is really close.

    Breakfast, chat, morning tea, secure tent and gazebo it is meant to be windy around 2. We seem quite sheltered but with the Hopwood's luck you just never know.

    Now researching a few items and then time to sit in the sun and read.

  • Walk along Corrigan's Beach

    Very relaxing this what a camping holiday is meant to be.

    After lunch we walk along Corrigan's Beach to the Batehaven shops. We walked around a caravan park which is full of permanent sites and a few grass power sites. Not as nice the one we a staying.Read more

  • Around the Big 4

    It was time to walk around this caravan park. It also has lots of permanent sites but is a much nicer caravan park.

    It has a pool, mini golf, volley ball, tennis. jumping pillow and playground.

    After the walk more time for relaxing. I am reading the Gantry Bookclub book Shuggie Bain, only read 2 chapters so far seems Ok just not my usual vampire, witches, dragons book.

  • Dinner, Bubbles, Movie, Chocolate

    Another great night just lazing around with a bubbles in hand,cooking chicken on the BBQ before watching a movie drinking Baileys and eating chocolate our restful day yesterday, today we are on the road.

    Tomorrow we are driving to Tilba, my family a very long time ago had a dairy farm in Tilba Tilba so thought a visit to the area might be nice to check our family heritage.

    Not much in Tilba however Central Tilba is cute.

    Some lovely shops, heritage homes and the ABC Cheese Factory.

    We could not taste the cheese but purchased 2 styles We also bought a book the Tilba Times which mentions my family and its dairy farm connections to the Cheese Factory.Read more

    The tent held up in the rain and small amount of wind while out today.

    The remaining hours of the day will be reading, playing a design game, macrame, coffee, cake, dinner, bubbles, movie, chocolate and Baileys.

  • A day at the Camp Site

    More wind a rain overnight and the tent was fine.

    Slept in this morning by the time breakfast, washing the dishes and clothes and tent work (make bed and sweep) it was 12 o'clock.

    We then went for a quick walk into Batehaven for some milk and bread, back at the tent to do some computer work and it is now 2.30 lunch time.

    After lunch more reading and my design game.

    The afternoon went by quickly playing Battle Blocks and walking around the campground.

    Gee life's rough🤣.

  • Lazy

    Last night we went out for yummy Indian with Richard and Bronwyn.

    Today is another camp site day.

    A very late breakfast and just lazing around reading and playing my game.

    After lunch we went for a walk upto the Batemans Bay breakwater.

    There was even a wedding on the beach.

    Now back for more of the same, very restful.

  • Another Lazy Day

    It was another lazy day today.

    Rain last night and windy today.

    The big vans around us left today so we are a bit vulnerable to the wind.

    We stayed around the tent until 1.30, we walked to Richard and Bronwyn's for lunch.

    Back at the tent and it is still standing, yeh.

    No more outings today we want to be here incase the wind picks up.

  • Rain Overnight

    It rained overnight and we survived.

    Still raining and more large caravans leaving but we are still standing and we are dry.

    This morning I made cup cakes and jelly so afternoon tea and dessert are sorted.

    We are going to drive in Moruya today to wander around. Moruya is quite a cute and has a village feel. In the past we have really on driven through. It does look like it has some little country shops and you just never know what they may have for purchase.

  • Mogo and Moruya

    Short drive to Mogo for lunch and wander around the cute shops.

    Moruya was next on our excursion for a little wander and then some groceries.

    Back at the camp site now for afternoon tea and more of that relaxing thing of game, reading and puzzles.

    In a few hours it will be dinner time of BBQ, Movie, Baileys and Chocolates.

    Who needs to travel overseas and be busy every day.

  • Lovely Day

    Overnight a little more rain and it went into the morning. This was like most other days breakfast,washing up, cleaning the tent, washing and morning tea. Just like any other morning.

    Then we drove to Moruya for lunch at the Waterfront Hotel and caught up with Mark and Gai wonderful company and yummy food.

    After lunch back at the camp site afternoon tea, resting, reading, playing my game and even a little nap. Resting is so tiring.

    Now dinner time, John cooked another BBQ.

    Once everything is cleaned up it will be time for a Movie, Chocolate and Baileys.

  • East Lynne

    Overnight more rain and we still survived.

    After breakfast this morning we drove to East Lynne for morning tea.

    It is a petrol station on the freeway which also has an interesting cafe and a motor cycle museum. Apparently the pies are pretty good but the visit was a bit early for lunch.

    Back at the campground for a short walk around working which site to select on our next visit.

    Now resting before I make lunch.

  • Starting to pack up

    In the afternoon we went to Richard and Bronwyn for afternoon tea.

    Then back to the campground to start packing up.

    We find it easier to start the day before as it makes it easier for packing everything back into the trailer and taking the tent down by checkout time.Read more

    Up at 7am to complete the packing.

    Not looking forward to packing it rained heaps last night so everything is wet.

    It took a few hours to pack up due to everything being wet very hard to fold tarps, gazebo and tent.

    All done.

    Now having breakfast at Batehaven Bakery before driving to Coila to visit Mark and Gai.

  • Pretty View

    Arrived at Mark and Gai's lovely country estate around 12 yesterday.

    Lunch at the local pub and back at the house for a good catch up with beer and bubbles looking over to the lake and beach.

    Later in the afternoon Mark took us on a tour of the property.

    Back at the house oysters, drink and lots of chatting and more food and drinks and even more chatting.

    This morning a yummy BBQ breakfast, thanks Mark and Gai for your wonderful hospitality.

    We will be back and stay longer next time.
