Tonight we decided a cocktail was required. Aqua Cooler, is our poison of choice, it has white rum, coconut liqueur, orange cordial and lime juice.
Elephants

We saw 3 separate herds of Elephants a total of just over 50, which was really cool. They basically eat and walk between the jeeps on their way to the lake. A very special experience.
Minneriya National Park

Today our Safari is in search of elephants.
It is quite warm so many of the animals are probably hiding in the cool. Fingers crossed we can see them both.

Boat Ride on Lake

This was a short paddle across the lake to the village. I recieved a lovely bouquet and we both received a floral necklace.
Bullock Ride

We are doing a Village tour, which is small demonstration village where the funds for the tour assist families with medical assistance and the elderly.
Our tour started with a Bullock Ride/Drive.
Around the Resort

The hotel grounds and rooms spread over a large area. Each room is its own Villa. Not sure how many rooms but we are 50 and the rooms keep going up the hill near us. Due to the expansive area thereBaca lagi

We are now back at our Hotel for breakfast and a little rest before our next experience.
So many options but I decided on the Egg Hopper which is a traditional Sri Lankan meal.
Down

We are down the rock it took just over 1 hour and a half to climb and return including our 20 min mini break at the top waiting for sunrise.

The Fortfied Palace Ruins

The 360 degree view is pretty spectacular looking across the plains and forest.
The palace ruins include the pool, kings throne and foundations.

The Summit

Whist the climb was a tad hard it was a lot easier than Tigers Nest in Bhutan.
The Lion's Paws Gate

The Climb Starts

Today we will be climbing Lion Rock.
Lion Rock is an ancient rock fortress and is a world heritage site. It rises 200 metres and has roughly 1200 steps to reach the top.

Early Start

This morning up again very early at 4.15 am and the temperature is 25. It is also very dark. We are on our way to Lion Rock.

Dinner had so much choice, was very hard to make a decision, I went with soup, spaghetti and desert. John had mixed meat, salad and desert. It was delicious.
