    New Caledonia: Nouméa, Grande Terre

    April 2 ⋅ ☁️ 79 °F

'Grande Terre' means 'main island' in French; there are over 140 in the archipelago. New Caledonia is a French territory and Nouméa is its capital.
We took a water taxi (~20 min ride) to Signal Island. It's a cute, sandy little island that allows for snorkeling from shore; the main objective: spot turtles.
We weren't disappointed. We returned to the ship ~2:30p and decided to call it a day.
We heard the Hop-On/Hop-Off bus (our original post-snorkeling plan) wasn't all that great. So it seems we luckily made the right decision.
