  • Bromus Dam

    Apr 3–4 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

We stopped at lunchtime for the day. This is a big and pretty free camp area around Bromus Dam. The dam was built in the 1920s to service steam trains. A top spot despite the healthy fly population.

  • Caiguna Blowhole

    Apr 4–5 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

Camped here for the night. Today we followed heavy rain, encountering wet roads and big puddles without actually getting rained on. Drove through Norseman ($2.29) and on to Balladonia ($3.16). The fuel prices vary greatly depending on when they had a delivery.
The blow hole is a small access to a large interconnected cave system.

  • WA/SA Border Bunda Cliffs

    Apr 5–6 in Australia ⋅ 🌬 23 °C

Stopped for the night at 13k Peg Camp past the border. Beautiful views. The flies are very bad, bush flies and biting March flies.
A good day's drive through Caiguna, Cocklebiddy, Madura, Mundrabilla and Eucla. Starting to see some fuel under $3 a litre as the excise is removed.Read more

  • Penong

    Apr 6–7 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Drove 385km from the Bunda Cliffs, through Nullarbor, Yalata and Nundroo. Cloudy but fine weather. The number of trucks has dramatically increased with the end of Easter coming. Penong is home to a windmill museum, with Australia's largest windmill. Penong Caravan Park is a real gem, especially at $38 a night.Read more
